SV instrumentalists attend PMEA festival

Students selected to move on to region band festival

Last month, 18 Seneca Valley Band students were selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Band Festival held at Mercer Area High School from Jan. 22-24. District Band is a representative festival of all the schools in PMEA District 5. It is the first step in the state-level music festival system, where students have the opportunity to advance to the regional level. The guest conductor for the festival was Dr. William Stowman, Associate Professor of Music and Department Chair at Messiah University.

Based on audition results, nine SV students (Maya Anglero, Camden Armstrong, Noah Bracht, Elora Dabravalskas, Emma Gallie, Isaac Hixon, Steven Patterson, Eli Scanlan, and Mackenzie Tunstall) were selected to move on to the PMEA Region 1 Band Festival to be held in March at Ambridge Area High School.
