Welcome, Dr. Schmitt

During Seneca Valley’s School Board Meeting on Monday, March 2, board members approved the appointment of Dr. Samantha Schmitt as the District’s new assistant principal of Haine Middle School.

A resident of Renfrew, Dr. Schmitt brings more than 15 years of experience in school administration, curriculum design, professional development and education. Her professional experience includes serving as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment & Professional Development at ACLD Tillotson School. She was also the Director of Student Services/Coordinator of Equity, Inclusion & Justice and served as the Interim Assistant Director at Falk Laboratory School. She also served many roles within the Duquesne City School District including Dean of Students; Instructional Coach for Science, STEM & Technology; and an elementary teacher and emotional support teacher for intermediate students.

“I am honored and excited to join the Seneca Valley School District as Assistant Principal of Haine Middle School,” said Dr. Schmitt. “I look forward to partnering with staff to continue cultivating student success, supporting and uplifting our students, collaborating with families, and contributing to the success of both Haine and the broader Seneca Valley community."

Dr. Schmitt holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Doctorate in Educational Policy from University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Arts in Administration from Duquesne University. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education Certification from Duquesne University.
