Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS) kicked off their Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with renowned guest speaker, Mark Brown.

Mr. Brown presented in two sessions to seventh and eighth grade students drawing on the popular Disney film "Beauty and the Beast," to deliver a powerful message about tolerance, respect and the value of relationships. His program emphasized the importance of accepting differences and also addressed topics such as bullying, cyberbullying and fostering respect and inclusion among peers.

PBIS is a framework designed to make schools more effective places. By implementing evidence-based practices, schools can support their students’ academic, social, emotional and behavioral success, engage with families and use data to guide decisions that strengthen school culture.

At RGMS, teachers and staff have worked diligently to build a culture that focuses on positive behaviors and the “Three R’s” – Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Resilient!
