Throughout the school year, students at Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS) dedicated their time and talents to meaningful service projects across the community. From planting trees and shrubs and spreading mulch to washing police cars, painting benches, pulling weeds, painting signs and more, students participated in a wide variety of hands-on projects designed to make a positive impact. 

As part of the ongoing “Community Grown” initiative, the program reflects RGMS’s commitment to empowering students to give back to the communities that support their education while fostering a lasting legacy of service, connection and civic responsibility.

Established in 2023, Community Grown is a building-wide service initiative that connects students with the nine municipalities within the Seneca Valley School District. RGMS staff members and administrators collaborated with each of the school’s 10 teams to identify local needs and develop projects that would address them in meaningful ways.

In previous years, all service projects took place during a single spring service day. This year, however, projects were carried out throughout the school year as needs arose, creating opportunities for more authentic, sustained and impactful community engagement.
