The Seneca Valley Academic Decathlon Team raised the bar with their recent placement at nationals.
The team placed 13th out of 82 teams globally, 11th out of 50 U.S. schools and fifth in the Large School Division at the United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) National Competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 24-27.

At the awards ceremony, only the top three student Speech scores were selected to share his/her speech on stage. Senior Katie Parker was selected and had the highest speech score in the competition.
“The team had an amazing time and made unforgettable memories,” exclaimed Seneca Valley Senior High School Teacher and Academic Decathlon adviser David Reichard. “Making it to the USAD National Competition and representing the state of Pennsylvania was a huge accomplishment. The seniors were proud to end their year at nationals and the returning team members look forward to next year.”
