SV hires Haine Elementary Principal
At Seneca Valley’s School Board Meeting on Monday, Aug. 14, board members approved the appointment of Kristen White as principal at Haine Elementary School in Cranberry Township.
Ms. White has been an administrative leader at Haine Elementary for the past few years; first coming to the District in 2015 as assistant principal at Haine. In May 2017, she took the position of acting principal after several openings were made when fellow administrators transitioned to other positions within and outside of the District.
A Butler resident, Ms. White also has leadership experience with Clarence Brown Community School where she served as principal for eight years. Additionally, for seven years, she worked as the secondary learning/emotional support coordinator for Knoch Middle and High Schools; and three years as an emotional support teacher for the same schools. Ms. White’s extensive resume also includes three years at Pressley Ridge Day School in addition to a host of time serving on local and state boards where she assists in the areas of leadership, safety and emotional support.
“It is incredibly exciting to have the opportunity of serving the Haine Elementary students, families and staff in my new role as Elementary Principal,” said Ms. White. “I bring to this position over 24 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. I am dedicated to continuing the student-centered approach that encourages our young learners to be creative, collaborative and innovative in an academic environment where success is defined for each individual child.”
Ms. White earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Slippery Rock University with an Emphasis on Serious Emotional Disturbances/Learning Disabilities. She also earned her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Carlow College.
