Mr. Mark Gartner

Mark Gartner is excited to be the school board representative of Callery and Harmony Boroughs and Jackson Township, Region 9. Mr. Gartner has been a proud resident of the Seneca Valley community for more than 23 years. He and his wife Amanda have been married since 2001 and have two sons: Mark Jr., a 2023 Seneca Valley graduate, and Conner, who will graduate in 2027.

After graduating from Claysburg-Kimmel High School in 1995, Mr. Gartner served in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and later in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s 28th Infantry Division as an infantry squad leader, completing nine years of combined service.

He earned his degree in Health and Physical Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002 and has been a middle school health and physical education teacher at Hampton Township Middle School for the past 22 years. He also completed a master’s degree in education from Slippery Rock University in 2008.

In addition to his work in education, Mr. Gartner owns and manages a residential real estate portfolio and has been active in community leadership through youth football and high school wrestling coaching.
