How SVF Helps
The distinction was given because of the incredible things done for Seneca Valley School District like connecting community resources, hosting a gift card drive for families in need, and even providing childcare stipends while schools were in remote learning.
The chamber’s Director of Marketing and Event, Annie Cairns, stated, “The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber is proud to choose the Seneca Valley Foundation as our Nonprofit Community Champion Distinguished Honoree. The recognition is well-deserved as the Seneca Valley Foundation has been committed to our region’s families, children, and students throughout the COVID pandemic.”
“The efforts by SVF to ensure that its student body and staff’s needs were met over the past two years do not go unnoticed,” added Ms. Cairns. “We are grateful to have them as a part of our community and admire their perseverance for the families they serve.”
Under the leadership of SVF’s Development Director, Annie Mersing, and its 12-member Board of Trustees, SVF amplified its response to the needs of Seneca Valley since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and is grateful for this recognition.
“It’s so rewarding to be seen by such a prestigious organization,” said Ms. Mersing. “Our mission had become so much more than just academics – it became about humanity. Now, as we trend back to excellence in academics and continue to grow, we do so with a much greater sense of community and togetherness.”
