Food Service Incentive Program:
- Active Food Service employees will be entitled to receive free reimbursable school meals for their students, based on their years of service with the district, as outlined below:
- Upon initial employment: 1 child may receive free reimbursable meals
- After completion of 2 years of employment: up to 2 children may receive free reimbursable meals
- After completion of 3 years of employment: up to 3 children may receive free reimbursable meals
- After completion of 4 years of employment: up to 4 children may receive free reimbursable meals
- Eligibility is limited to students for whom the employee is listed as Parent/Legal Guardian #1 or #2 in the District’s information management system.
- Employees on an improvement plan are not eligible for this incentive until they are no longer on such a plan.
- Current Food Service employees will be credited for their existing years of service to determine their initial eligibility tier.
- The benefit applies to federal/state reimbursable meals only; a la carte items are not included.
- The employee is eligible to participate in the incentive program if their household income does not exceed $150,000 or is no more than 5% above that threshold (up to $157,500).
- Employees who either opt out of free meals, are ineligible for district-provided free meals, or do not have children may receive a $150 bonus in their final paycheck of the school year.
- Employees hired during the school year are eligible for free meals upon hiring but won’t be eligible for a $150 bonus until they’ve worked a full school year.
Program Administration:
- Each eligible team member must submit proof of household income and the names of their qualifying student(s) at the beginning of each school year to the Food Services Director at least one week prior to the first student day.
- A system notification will be placed on the students’ meal accounts to alert cashiers that these meals are provided at no cost.
- All free meals under this program will be recorded as “earned” meals to maintain state and federal reimbursement eligibility.
This incentive supports employee retention, recognizes service to the district, and provides valuable support to Food Service team members and their families.
