SV All-Star Club
For the month of November, we are pleased to announce the newest member inducted into the SV All-Star Club, Mr. Bob Buchanan, Seneca Valley Intermediate High School Custodian.
The SV All-Star Club is an awards program developed by the District to express our gratitude to Seneca Valley classified employees (administrative assistants, paraprofessionals, maintenance, cafeteria), bus drivers and security guards who are often the unsung heroes of our schools. We recognize a new member of this elite all-star club each month.
Mr. Buchanan has dedicated 10 years to the Seneca Valley School District and eight years to serving our country in the U.S. Army. A proud veteran, Mr. Buchanan served in Operation Desert Storm and has been honored with numerous military decorations, including an Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.

“I can’t think of a more deserving recipient of the SV All-Star Club recognition than Mr. Bob Buchanan,” said Mr. Dan Guerra, Assistant Principal of Seneca Valley Intermediate High School. “Respected by both staff and students, Bob goes far beyond his role as custodian—he builds relationships, offers guidance, and brings heart to our school. Spend just a few minutes in the IHS cafeteria during lunch and you’ll see Bob in action: fist-bumping students, chatting with them and offering words of wisdom when needed. In fact, not many people can say they’ve inspired a cheering section of high school students to attend a school board meeting.”
Mr. Guerra added, “Bob takes great pride in his work, and his dedication reflects how he approaches life: no task is too big, and everything he does is driven by a genuine love for people. After hours, conversations with Bob often turn to his beloved Steelers, fishing trips to Lake Erie, or his greatest joy—his family. If there were an All-Star Club for being a family man, Bob would be a first-ballot inductee.”
With November being designated as National Veterans and Military Families Month, it’s especially fitting to honor Mr. Buchanan, not only for his service to our school, but also to our country. His commitment to excellence and duty shines through in all he does.

For the month of October, we are pleased to announce the newest member inducted into the SV All-Star Club, Mr. Dave McCabe, Haine Elementary and Middle School Custodian.
Mr. McCabe is affectionately known as “Mr. Dave” throughout Haine Elementary and Middle School. From the start of summer, he worked collaboratively to ensure that Haine was not only ready for the return of students and staff, but that it exceeded expectations in cleanliness, organization, and overall preparedness. His meticulous attention to detail and pride in his work are evident in all he does.
“Dave consistently demonstrates a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a sincere commitment to the well-being of our school,” said Dr. Kristen White, Principal of Haine Elementary School. “No task is too big or too small—he approaches each one with care, efficiency, and a high standard of excellence. His helpful nature, paired with his respectful and compassionate demeanor, makes him a key member of the Haine family.”
“Dave has a natural ability to connect with students,” added Dr. White. “Whether offering high fives, singing the days of the week song, or using playful voices to comfort a child having a tough day, his interactions bring joy and reassurance. It’s impossible not to smile when witnessing the way he engages with our children.”
“Every day I get to be ‘Mr. Dave,’” said Mr. McCabe. “My mission is to create a safe and clean environment for students and staff, and I feel completely embraced by everyone in the building.”
Mr. McCabe exemplifies excellence in every aspect of his role and is truly deserving of this recognition. We are grateful for the dedication, reliability, and the outstanding character he brings to school each day.

For the month of September, we are pleased to announce the newest member inducted into the SV All-Star Club, Mr. Logan Ellsworth, security officer for Seneca Valley Senior High School.
Mr. Ellsworth has worked at the Senior High School for several years, showing unwavering dedication to ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for every student and visitor who enters the building. In addition, he also directs traffic on the secondary campus during arrival and dismissal.
“Logan goes above and beyond of what’s expected,” said Mr. Bob Ceh, Principal of Seneca Valley Senior High School. “He knows the students, and often times their story. Logan is very understanding and is always willing to listen to them. What’s neat is that sometimes his job requires him to redirect students when he notices something isn’t as it should be, a task that isn’t always well-received. Yet Logan has a way of doing it that earns students’ respect and attention.”
“One of the things we talk to students about is how important it is to do your job, but another huge aspect is how you do your job and that is almost as important,” added Mr. Ceh. “Logan is always accessible. He’s always present, helps escort students from different buildings, monitors video surveillance and more. Anything we need, he does it.”
Mr. Ellsworth is truly deserving of this recognition and is an outstanding asset. He consistently goes above and beyond in his role, ensuring that everyone feels safe and respected.
“Receiving the All-Star Award is a true honor, and I am grateful,” said Mr. Ellsworth. “I see it as a reflection of the outstanding team I work alongside every day, the strong leadership that supports me, and the amazing community we’re part of.”

For the month of April, we are pleased to announce the newest member inducted into the SV All-Star Club, Ms. Peggy Fennell, Cafeteria Manager at Seneca Valley Senior High School.
Ms. Fennell has been a dedicated member of the Seneca Valley School District since 1998 and has served as the cafeteria manager for the past 15 years.
“While her title is manager, a more fitting description would be cafeteria leader,” said Mr. Bob Ceh, Principal of Seneca Valley Senior High School. “She has led this cafeteria with dependability, wisdom, patience, and a demeanor that will be hard to replace.”
When reflecting on Ms. Fennell’s leadership, Mr. Ceh highlighted four key qualities: dependability, wisdom, patience and demeanor.
“I think the only time that she has missed work is when she went to Ireland a few years ago,” shared Mr. Ceh. “There may have been a few other rare occasions, but Peg is here every day. What makes her so dependable is also her wisdom. She’s always prepared with a ‘just in case’ plan.”
Mr. Ceh also emphasized her patience. “In all of the times that these things pop up, the planning that she does allows her to be patient with these situations.” And then there’s her demeanor. She never seems to lose that gentle disposition that she is here to take care of the kids, make sure they are fed, and be friendly and understanding with them. Her staff respects her, and she respects her staff which is a foundation for a team that works together at a high level.”
Ms. Fennell is truly deserving of this recognition. As the leader of the cafeteria, she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a friendly, welcoming environment for everyone she serves.
