Patriot Day 2026
On the morning of Friday, Sept. 11, Seneca Valley students and staff came together in a commemorative event led by Seneca Valley Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) to honor the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the lives lost. Through ceremonies, visits from special guests, lessons and activities, our schools across the district paused to reflect the significance of this day in our nation’s history.
Additionally, many of our elementary students helped create a memorial display inspired by Spencer Finch’s art “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on that September Morning,” and 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s “Remember the Sky” campaign. Students contributed shades of blue that represented the clear sky on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Together, these individual pieces became a beautiful display of remembrance, reflection and hope.
As a community and a nation, we honor the lives of the victims of 9/11. We commend the heroic and courageous actions of the first responders, rescue workers and volunteers.
We will #neverforget911
