Seneca Valley's Hope Walk 2026
The week of May 4, Seneca Valley secondary students participated in activities of hope, celebration and awareness in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. On Thursday, May 7, the Seneca Valley Hope Squad hosted their fourth annual Hope Walk as part of a culminating event following a week of special recognitions. Students in grades 9–12 stepped away from their desks to walk — not only for themselves, but in support of one another. Throughout the day, hundreds of students and faculty members united to bring Hope Week to a powerful close, carrying forward an important message: no one walks alone.
Hope Week is an initiative designed to promote mental health awareness across the district and community, educate the public on suicide prevention and reduce the stigma around mental health. Throughout the week, students participated in various activities that not only built awareness but also highlighted the resources available both inside and outside of school. The Hope Walk offered students a meaningful break where they could enjoy a beautiful afternoon walking the track, music from a live DJ, outdoor games, booths showcasing SV clubs and activities and refreshing Dilly Bars.
As part of their ongoing mission, the Hope Squad raised nearly $4,000 to support their initiatives for grades 9–12. These funds will directly benefit programming and create opportunities for mindfulness activities, self-care initiatives, and provide additional mental health resources for students at Seneca Valley. The SV Hope Squad did a great job planning a week of school spirit and unity!
Thank you to all the organizations that helped make this year’s Hope Walk a success, including the Rotary Club of Cranberry Township Sunrise, Cranberry Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, Digi Group Entertainment, the Positive Painting Project and our SV clubs and sports teams. Your support was instrumental in bringing this important week to life.
