During school hours, technical support will be provided at each building's technology support area. No tech support will be provided after school hours. No tech support will be provided for at-home issues such as connecting to Wi-Fi, connecting a printer, etc.
You may not substitute homeowners or other personal insurance for District-procured laptop insurance.
Students will be responsible for the care and security of their device. The size of the device lends itself well to securing the device in the student lockers or classrooms.
In the event that device accessories are stolen or lost, students should report the lost items to the school office.

Yes, students may connect their iPod music player, digital camera, or other accessories to their issued device. Students will not be able to "back-up" their music and photos to District servers unless part of an academic project.
Use a dry soft cloth to clean the screen. If needed, use damp cloth with water to clean the screen. DO NOT use Windex, alcohol, or other solvents for cleaning.
All devices, chargers, and styluses (if provided) will be collected at the end of the school year for general maintenance, cleaning, and software installation purposes. The summer process provides for all operating system and software upgrades in order to stay current with the latest software offerings.
Students do not need to own a printer since printers will be located throughout the school buildings. The school does not guarantee that a home printer will connect to the device.
Students may access their files off campus via the network or by logging onto Office 365 and One Drive (https://office365.svsd.net).
Although students are primarily responsible for the use of the device and District provided technology resources, the District has installed blocking software designed to protect students from obscene material and other visual depictions deemed harmful to minors (as defined by the Children's Internet Protection Act) when accessing the Internet through the device.

Each building will stock a limited number of devices that will be loaned out to students whose machines are being repaired. This will minimize "down-time" for students.
Loaner devices will not be provided for a device left at home. Students are expected to have their device charged and ready to use every day at school.

Students must save files to the local hard drive before they leave school. Files saved to the local hard drive can be accessed with or without internet access.
Students will be required to use the school district issued device for school purposes. This is necessary to ensure that students have a device that gives them network capability and the ability to run the software that students will need in their classes. For these reasons, other devices will not be used.
