Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship

Students have a wide range of technologies available to them. Part of the learning process is gaining self-assurance to use those resources effectively and appropriately. Digital citizenship involves digital literacy, online safety, etiquette and associated skills. Being a digital citizen involves far more than simply following acceptable use expectations. We desire for students to make wise choices when they use technology in school and in their community.

Among many responsibilities, digital citizens:

  • Respect themselves and others
  • Stay safe online
  • Balance the time that they spend online with other avenues of learning and communicating
  • Thoughtfully manage their digital footprint
  • Respect copyright and intellectual property
  • Consider the quality of online sources they access
  • Report cyber bullying and other inappropriate behavior
  • Protect private information

To support our efforts in developing digital citizens, we have partnered with Common Sense Education. Click here to learn more.
