Dr. Marie Palano
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment, Grades K-12
 
Dr. Marie Palano has been an administrator in the Seneca Valley School District since 2011, when she was appointed as the assistant principal at Ryan Gloyer Middle School. In August 2012, Dr. Palano became the Evans City Middle School Principal. During her tenure as principal, she increased students’ learning time by building partnerships with community-based organizations to offer after-school programming.

In February 2017, Dr. Palano moved to her current role of Director of Analytics and Federal Programs. Dr. Palano uses meaningful data to develop and implement initiatives connected to the district's goals. In addition, Dr. Palano oversees federal programming (Title I, Title II, Title III and Title IV) for the district. 

Dr. Palano earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education at Mercyhurst University. While teaching, she completed her Master’s degree in Reading and is a certified reading specialist. She then earned her Principal Certification at Gannon University and her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility at California University of PA. She earned her Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in Educational Leadership. 
 
Dr. Palano started her teaching career in Buffalo, NY and taught Spanish at Pittsburgh Public School District. Her career at Seneca Valley began in 2003 when she was hired as a Spanish and French teacher at Ryan Gloyer Middle School.
