2018-19 New Start / Dismissal Times

Earlier this spring, members of the Seneca Valley School Board approved a change to the start and dismissal times for students in grades K-12.
This adjustment, which will begin on Aug. 29, 2018, for the 2018-19 school year, has been based upon extensive research of the biology of adolescent sleep and its related impact on a student’s academic achievement.

The move will extend the Seneca Valley School District start time by 35 minutes for secondary students with a slight adjustment for elementary. The following will now take place:

  • 2018-19 Start/Dismissal Times for students in grades K-6: 8:55 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.
  • 2018-19 Start/Dismissal Times for students in grades 7-12: 8:09 a.m. - 2:41 p.m.
