Email: floodmp@svsd.netPhone: (724) 452-6040 ext. 3085ABOUT THE CLUB:We are one of the largest clubs on campus with over 150 members and consist of grades 7, 8, & 9. The purpose of the club is to introduce the fine art of skiing and snowboarding to new members, to increase the skill levels of other members, to provide social opportunities for members, and to accomplish these goals in a safe environment. The students will enjoy the times they spend on the slopes while learning a lifelong fitness activty.The club will schedule as many trips as the weather and finances allow. The trips are normally scheduled for either Friday evenings after school or Saturdays from morning until evening. The time schedule for a typical trip would be as follows:

3:00 pm - Leave Middle School 7:00 am - Leave Middle School
5:00 PM - Arrive @ Resort 9:30 am - Arrive @ resort
10:00 pm - Leave resort 5:00 PM - Leave resort
11:30 pm - Arrive @ Jason's Deli 8:00 PM - Arrive @ Jason's Deli(if resort is south)
12:00 am - Arrive Middle School 8:30 PM – Arrive @ Middle School
Times are tentative based on our destination.
There will be chaperones on the busses; however, it must be understood that each student will be on his/her own while at the resort. Students will assume responsibility for equipment, conduct, and injuries while skiing. The school nor I are responsible for lost or stolen equipment. (It is strongly recommended that beginners take a lesson at the reduced group rate) Chaperones will monitor the ski patrol area for injuries and will be notified of any misconduct reported by staff members at the resort.
Cost:
The trips are arranged to take advantage of group discounts offered by various resorts. The tentative prices for the trips are for the 2018-19 season and are as follows.

Home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. If interested please contact me.Last ski season, the club traveled to Jackson Hole, WY which is one of the steepest and most challening resorts in the US. It was an incredible trip with over 2-1/2 ft. of snow while we were there. It was truly one of the best trips we've taken.In 2017, the club traveled to Park City, Utah but this time skiied Park City Mountain resort which now bought the Canyons and is the largest resort in the US. Some of us took a day and even skiied Deer Valley Resort which is for skiiers only and is the Taj Mahal of skiing.The 2016 club took a trip to BIG SKY, Montana. There were a total of 28 people on the trip and we had a blast. Below are some pics from our trip, as well as some of our past trips. We skied for four days and the sights were breathtaking. Some of the members took a tour of Yellowstone National Park which was 45 minutes away and the pictures and experiences were breathtaking.In 2015, the club took a trip to Vancouver, BC and skied at Whistler/Blackcomb. The site of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The mountains and views were stunning and the trip was a blast.We traveled to Vermont in 2014, and skied at Smuggler's Notch. On the bus ride there we ran into a huge snow storm that extended the bus ride a few hours to say the least. However, once we arrived the snow was awesome and it was a wonderful time.In 2013, we took a trip to Heavenly Resort in Lake Tahoe. Wow, of all trips we have done, this one was the most beautiful. The scenery of the lake from different views from the mountain is breathtaking. At Heavenly you can actually ski from one state (CA) to another (NV) on 1 run.In 2012 we took the club to Park City to ski the Canyons. The trip included 40 of us and we had over 2 1/2 feet of powder.....what a trip.2011 took us to Smuggler's Notch Vermont which is one of the best places on the East Coast.
