On Nov. 6, 2023, the Seneca Valley School Board approved a paraprofessional incentive program for the District through the last day of the 2023-24 school year.

Bonuses
Paraprofessional Bonus
Pay a bonus of $350 to each Seneca Valley employee who works all the workdays from Nov. 7, 2023, to Jan. 19, 2024, as a paraprofessional.
Pay a bonus of $375 to each Seneca Valley employee who works all the workdays from Jan. 22, 2024, to March 28, 2024, as a paraprofessional.
Pay a bonus of $375 to each Seneca Valley employee who works during all the workdays from April 8, 2024, to the last student day (anticipated to be June 6, 2024) in the 2023-24 school year as a paraprofessional.
Multiple Supports Bonus
Pay a multiple supports bonus of $650 to each Seneca Valley employee who works during all the workdays from Nov. 7, 2023, to Jan. 19, 2024, in the position of multiple supports paraprofessional.
Pay a multiple supports bonus of $675 to each Seneca Valley employee who works during all the workdays from Jan. 22, 2024, to March 28, 2024, in the position of multiple supports paraprofessional.
Pay a multiple supports bonus of $675 to each Seneca Valley employee who works during all the workdays from April 8, 2024, to the last student day (anticipated to be June 6, 2024) in the 2023-24 school year in the position of multiple supports paraprofessional.
Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Bonus
Pay a degree bonus of $1,300 to each Seneca Valley paraprofessional who has earned a four-year collegiate degree, or higher, and works during all the workdays from Nov. 7, 2023, to Jan. 19, 2024. The employee should have provided the District with an official college/university transcript upon their hire documenting the degree earned or they must provide it by Jan. 19, 2024, to qualify for the degree bonus.
Pay a degree bonus of $1,350 to each Seneca Valley paraprofessional who has earned a four-year collegiate degree, or higher, and works during all the workdays from Jan. 22, 2024, to March 28, 2024. The employee should have provided the District with an official college/university transcript upon their hire documenting the degree earned or they must provide it by March 28, 2024, to qualify for the degree bonus.
Pay a degree bonus of $1,350 to each Seneca Valley paraprofessional who has earned a four-year collegiate degree, or higher, and works during all the workdays from April 8, 2024, to the last student day (anticipated to be June 6, 2024) in the 2023-24 school year. The employee should have provided the District with an official college/university transcript upon their hire documenting the degree earned or they must provide it by June 6, 2024, to qualify for the degree bonus.
Notes:
- The terms "work" and "works" in this document are defined to mean paid days of work, including days worked, paid sick days, and paid personal days. Unpaid leave days and no-work days (professional in-service days not scheduled for paraprofessional work, etc.) do not count as work for the purposes of bonus qualifications.
- Bonuses are additive, meaning that an employee could earn more than one bonus during each bonus term (ex. $350 loyalty bonus and $650 multiple supports bonus earned together during the 11/7/23 to 1/19/24 term would total to a $1,000 bonus).
- Bonus payments will be made within one month of the conclusion of the bonus period.
- All appropriate payroll withholding will occur.
- Bonuses are not pro-rated; an employee that works only a portion of the days during the bonus term is not eligible for a bonus during that term.
Other Incentives
Recruitment Bonus
Pay a bonus of $200 to any Seneca Valley employee who recruits a new paraprofessional employee for hire between Nov. 6, 2023, and April 17, 2024. The new employee must never have previously been employed by the District and must work at least 30 days as a paraprofessional employee by June 6, 2024.
The referring employee must complete a Referral Form obtained from Human Resources and it must be received by the Human Resources Department before the candidate's first paraprofessional employment interview. Payment of the recruitment bonus will be paid through payroll (taxes etc. will be withheld). The bonus payment will be made after the new employee has completed 30 workdays. The bonus is per new employee, so a current employee can earn multiple bonuses for recruiting multiple staff according to the terms of the bonus above.
Background Check Reimbursement
Provide reimbursement of up to $50 to any paraprofessional hired between Nov. 7, 2023, and June 6, 2024, for the cost of obtaining their employment clearances. The paraprofessional employee must complete at least 30 workdays to be eligible for reimbursement.
Payment will be made as a reimbursement after the employee completes the employee reimbursement form available from each school office and includes the supporting receipts for clearance expenses to the business office. Paraprofessionals hired before or after the incentive period listed above are not eligible for reimbursement to obtain or renew their clearances.
