Title I
Title I, Part A
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 provides financial assistance to local education agencies (LEAs) and schools. Federal funds are allocated to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. The federal funding is distributed to districts and schools based on the percentage of low-income families.

Title I/Reading Support programs are supplemental instructional programs designed to improve students’ literacy skills and academic performance.
Title I instruction is delivered in both the general education classroom and in a small group setting outside of the classroom.
The schoolwide interventionists also work closely with classroom teachers and parents/guardians to provide information and resources to support the development of literacy skills in the classroom and at home.Title I Math
The Title I Math program at Evans City Middle School is designed to improve students’ understanding of foundational math skills. Critical thinking and problem solving are also important components of the Title I Math program.
Title I instruction is delivered in both the general education classroom and in a small group setting outside of the classroom.
The Title I Math interventionist also collaborates with classroom teachers to make explicit connections between the type and level of support each student receives and the curriculum, instruction and student learning outcomes.
