08-09 Football Season Begins with FSN Broadcast
Seneca Valley School District is already gearing up for the 2008-09 football season with ticket sales and the first-ever televised football game.
The Raiders game against District 10 foe Erie McDowell will be broadcast on September 4, over the Fox Sports News (FSN) Network. The game, typically held on Friday nights, was moved to Thursday to accommodate the broadcast time. When asked about the opportunity to play a home game on regional television, Coach Ron Butschle said he was thrilled.
"This is an excellent opportunity for our program and our school," Butschle said. "We are honored to be included in the FSN season line up.”
Kickoff and broadcast time have yet to be determined but are expected to follow the FSN standard start time of 7 p.m.
The evening will also include Seneca Valley School District’s Annual Veteran Recognition Program, honoring military veterans prior to the start of the game.
“Having people through out Western Pennsylvania invite our team and fans in to their living room is a huge impact on the event," said Mark Korcinsky, senior high school principal. "We anticipate a full house and will be mobilizing our student body to show our Raider Spirit for everyone watching.”
Season ticket holders for Seneca Valley games should be aware of the change as tickets were printed several months prior to the broadcast notice. Tickets are currently on sale in the Seneca Valley Athletic Office weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost of a season ticket is $32 and includes a parking pass for the season. For more information, call the athletic office at )724) 452-6040, ext. 152 or ext. 269.
