School Board Approves Arbitration Report
In a 6-2 vote, the Seneca Valley School Board approved the final report and award from the three-member arbitration board during Monday night's work session meeting.
The report calls for a five-year agreement with the wage schedule from the fact finder's report of 3.9 percent the first and second years, 4.3 percent the third year, and 4.7 percent the fourth and fifth years of the contract. This is an average wage increase of 4.3 percent.
As for health care contributions, the report agreed with the teacher's association, calling for a contribution in the first year of $0/pay/employee, $10 the second year, $15 the third and fourth years, and $20 the fifth year.
Another item addressed in the report includes retroactive pay. The report calls for retroactive pay to go to current and retired employees, as well as to employees who passed away.
The association has until April 17 to vote on the report.
