Second Seneca Valley Athletic Hall of Fame Class Announced

The Seneca Valley Athletic Hall of Fame is proud to announce the 2009 Induction Ceremony to be held on May 16, at the Seneca Valley Senior High School.

The inductees for this year’s class include:

• Mr. Wayne Bloom
• Ms. Beth Black
• Mr. Richard “Dick” Lane
• Mr. Norman McMurray
• Mr. David Florie
• Mr. Dennis Britt

This year’s inductees represent outstanding achievements as coaches, athletes and supporters of Seneca Valley Athletics.  Mr. Britt, Mr. Bloom and Ms. Black were superior athletes in their respective sports of football, wrestling and track & field.

Mr. Florie and Mr. Lane established the model for character in coaching that is now a tradition at Seneca Valley.

Mr. Norm McMurray will be inducted posthumously for his outstanding commitment to supporting the Seneca Valley Athletic Program for over 45 years.

The banquet will be held at the Seneca Valley Senior High School on May 16, 2009.  Tickets are $20 per seat and will be available starting April 16, at the Seneca Valley Senior High School Athletic Office between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Individuals not able to attend the event but still wish to support the Hall of Fame Induction are welcome to purchase a sponsorship note in the program for $20.  Your message of support and congratulations will be displayed on a business card size portion of a page in the program.  Your check made out to the Seneca Valley School District can be sent to:

The inductees for this year’s class are, seated from left to right: Gus Nicoll ('84), Martha Fox Weygandt ('77), Wayne Roccia ('68), and Van Walker ('68).
