School Bus Information

Activity Bus

The secondary activity bus provides transportation home for students in supervised after-school activities. The secondary activity bus does not stop at regularly scheduled bus stops. Buses stay on main roads within the district. These buses depart Seneca valley secondary schools on Monday at 5:45 p.m. and on Friday at 5:30 p.m. only. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the bus departs at 4:30 and 5:45 p.m. The 4:30 p.m. bus stops and arrival times are available in the secondary offices.

School Bus Conduct

The bus driver has the same authority to enforce discipline on the bus as the teacher has in the classroom. Students involved in bus misconduct, showing disrespect for the driver, or causing damage to the bus, may lose their bus privileges.

First Violation - A warning notice or bus suspension may be given to the student by the principal. The parents will be notified of the notice or the suspension.

Second Violation - A bus notice or suspension may be given with parent duly notified.

Third Violation - Loss of riding privileges on the bus for an indefinite period. A meeting may need to be arranged with the principal and the director of transportation.

Violations - Some violations may necessitate the immediate suspension of a student from riding a bus.

* Attendance in school during bus suspension is mandatory.

School Bus Safety

Help us protect your children. Certain types of clothing can get caught in the bus handrail, door, or other equipment as your child gets on and off the bus:

Long, dangling jacket or sweatshirt draw strings
Long backpack straps
Long scarves or other loose clothing

Remove drawstrings from clothing whenever possible, or cut off drawstring tab and knots. Also, talk to your child about the following safety rules:

Stay away from danger zones around the bus
Don't try to pick up something dropped near the bus. The bus driver might not see you.
Remember that other motorists don't always stop for a stopped school bus. Use extreme caution whenever getting on or off the school bus.

Bus Emergency (After 4 P.M. only):
